What this site stores

Successful route plans, including submitted stop names, coordinates, route geometry, and nearby results, may be kept in the server’s temporary memory for up to one year and reused when another visitor requests the same drive. This cache is cleared when the server restarts and may be cleared earlier as it fills. Shared routes also put stop names in the page URL, so avoid entering private or sensitive information.

How route planning works

The map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. When you submit a route, your browser sends the stop names to Make My Drive Fun’s server. The server uses OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim geocoder and the routing service at routing.openstreetmap.de when it does not already have the result in its temporary cache, then searches its attraction catalog. Those services receive normal server request information rather than a direct request from your browser.

Analytics

This site loads our self-hosted Umami service at umami.schollz.com on every visit. It records anonymous visit information such as pages viewed, referrer, browser, device type, and general country. The tracker does not use cookies.

Advertising

This site loads Google AdSense on every visit. Google may use cookies or similar technology and receive request details such as your IP address, device and browser information, and page activity to serve, secure, and measure ads.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, or to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
